1. Self - Image |
The development of character plays a crucial role in healthy self-image. Without developing a healthy self-image of myself, I would be incapable to play a positive role in the lives of others. In order to build and maintain a healthy self-image, it is important to stay rooted in my faith and morals as well as surround myself with virtuous friends that bring out the best in me.

2. Personal Reflection |
After wanting to be nurse since my freshmen year of high school, I faced a very terrifying crisis my fall semester when I found my future profession as a nurse preventing me from pursing my passion to work in advocacy and social change. The process of changing my major to Social Work this semester forced me to reevaluate my goals and ambitions. It was through this period of self-reflection that I realized that my professional ambitions related to working with medical ethics and policies would be difficult to accomplish if I were to continue my career as a nurse, so by allowing myself to let go and trust in God's will, I found my calling to Social Work. |
3. Taking the Initiative to Lead |
Although I have been placed into many leadership positions, I find my strengths to serve best as an active supporter to individuals who take initiative to lead. I love being able to empower others to use their strengths and talents to accomplish things that they are passionate about.

4. Connecting with Others |
Sincerity and authenticity are two things that I deeply value in relationships. In order to connect with people, I have found that I must first be sincere with myself in order to be sincere with others. I find that through being sincere with myself and others, it creates an environment for authentic relationships to form and genuine connections to develop.

5. Team Building Skills |
In order to make a team successful, it is crucial to clearly define roles, responsibilities, and expectations of each team member. By doing these three things, it is easier to hold each other accountable to complete tasks. Successful teams are a working unit where everyone must give 100% to each other. A team knows how to communicate affectively through constructive criticism and positive feedback. True teamwork requires trial and error which brings forth personal growth that enhances the collaborative team effort.
